The Syriac Orthodox Church of Mār Tūmā; Extreme south wall , Old Mosul

(1-5) In the year 2035 of the blessed king Alexander, on Saturday, the 18th day in the month Tammūz (July), our Father Mōr Iġnātiōs departed in honour and pomp. May the Lord make him take delight with the (ecclesiastical) shepherds in the harbour of rest. He left, departing from this world full of difficulties, (610) to the world full of life, blessing and delights. He is our esteemed Father, Patriarch and leader of fathers, chosen Ishōq worthy of blessing and benedictions. Counting on the promises of the Gospel <of> the Son of God, this shepherd left, departing from this painful world. (11-15) He died in the hope of the delights in the luminous place above the celestial sphere. May his lot be, O my Lord, on your right side with Mōr Peter. O shepherd: The church weeps over you with loud wailing, and the dioceses, which put on sorrow, are constantly gushing tears on account of your departure from them. (16-20) May 155 the Lord comfort their hearts with the promise of resurrection. Venerable priests, deacons and chosen people: Pray with love and with a sad voice for this shepherd, so that he may be invited to the right side on the Last Day, and that he may be worthy of mercy, in heaven above <and> in the Kingdom.
