Hover a word for its meaning. Glosses draw on Amir Harrak’s translations and the SEDRA 3 Syriac lexicon (Beth Mardutho), used for academic purposes.

(1-5) In the year one thousand seven hundred and seventy-two of Jesus Christ, Thurs<day>, the 6th day in the month of Nīsān (April), our Father Mōr Qūrillōs departed in honour and pomp. May the Lord make him take delight in the garden of bliss which is full of glory. He departed (6-10) moving from this world full of difficulties, to the world full of life, blessings and delights. He is our esteemed Father, the most venerable Bishop Rizq-Allāh, worthy of blessings and benedictions. Counting on the promises of the Gospel (11-15) <of> the Son of God, this shepherd left this painful world. He died in the hope of your (i.e. Christ’s) delights in the luminous place above the celestial sphere. May his lot be, O my Lord, on your right side with Mōr Peter. The church weeps over you O (16-20) our Father, with loud wailing, and the dioceses, which put on sorrow, are constantly gushing tears on account of your departure. May the Lord comfort their hearts through the promise of resurrection. Venerable priests, deacons (21-22) and chosen people: Pray with love and with a sad voice for this Father, so that he may be invited to the right side (of the Lord).
