English Translation

(1-2) undertook the rebuilding of this honourable monastery of Mār Ēlīā, (6–10) the reason being Deacon ‛Īsā. May God have mercy on each one who has mercy on both of them and on their believing parents, amen. (Syr.) Pray for the humble priest Hurmizd the mason. It is written in the year (11–14) 1968 of Greece. My lords: Pray for (and) have mer[cy] on x x [the sin]ner.
