(1-5) Of the house of Bēt-Quriāqōs. In the name of the Living God, the Trinity and the only One whose throne is in heaven, and whose abode is the magnificent light. He is the beginning and the end, whose being has no beginning. Through his everlasting love he sent his eternal Son as he wanted. The Son put on himself a human body (6b) (out of) Adam’s nature, (5b-6a) died and rose up on the third day. (7b-9a) The reverend priest and teacher, the monk Ēša‛iō of beautiful name and sweet melody, preacher of truthful things, (6c-7a) left this earthly world, departing to the spiritual one, (9b-11) in the year 2062 according to the reckoning of Alexander the (Two)-Horned, the 15th day of the month of Nīsōn (April). Let he who reads this memorial (12-15) say: O merciful Lord, pardon his transgressions on the Day of Judgment. And he who (says: May God) pardon (him)—as he (says: May God) pardon (him)—he will be pardoned. May the Mother of God and all the holy ones of our Lord be commemorated, amen.
