Hover a word for its meaning. Glosses draw on Amir Harrak’s translations and the SEDRA 3 Syriac lexicon (Beth Mardutho), used for academic purposes.

(1) Hear peoples and give ear nations to what has taken place in our own time! Every year a king came and oppressed us. But we people of Kudēdā stood up with the might of God for the rebuilding of the church (2) of Mary Mother of God. In this year we sowed much but nothing came for us. Out of 10 cor (of grain) only one came, and what came was eaten by the quail. Despite all of this, we did not neglect the rebuilding of the holy church. B (1) My brothers the faithful: (Say: God have) mercy on the deceased relatives of (2) kawaja Hannā Binnī, for he was the intermediary (in this project).
