(1-5) (Metre) of Mōr Ya‛qūb: The Priest Yawsef Šlēmūn died, testing death, on the tenth of Iyyōr (May) in the year 1907 of Christ. It was him who took care of building this new church, and outside, he built the cells (6-10) and the galleries of the courtyard. Ah! his sweet melodies and beautiful voice, when he used to consecrate the body and the blood on the altar of the Lord! May his lot be in the Church of the first-born ones that is in heaven, with the holy ones and the ranks (11-12) of the chosen priests and (angelic) choirs: (Arab.) 2217 (Garsh.) of the Greeks.
