English Translation

(1a-3a) Here rests the priest ‛Abd-al-Ahad son of the priest Yawsef. (1b-3b) He was born in the year 1882. He was ordained in the year 1933. He died in the year 1957.

(1-5) Sleep in peace O priest, noble and full of glory! He worked and toiled in the vineyard of his Lord morning and evening. Lo! He presented to the Son ten talents for the one talent, and won the blessings of the right side in the bridal chamber of light. He was gentle, humble, and full of virtues, love, and hope. He was diligent, zealous, and full of admiration for virtuous deeds. He acquired zeal and total love for the faith, while the love of his Lord consumed his heart like fire. O our Lord Jesus: Give him the reward of being with the righteous ones, and with the holy ones give him rest and dwelling.
