(1-5) The people of Tell-Kēf took care of building the glorious church in honour of the Holy Heart of Jesus. Mār Yawsep ‛Ammānū’ēl II, the most blessed Patriarch of Babylon laid the first stone in the year 1912, during the days of his Holiness Mār Pius X Pope of Rome. The building activity ceased for the length (6-10) of the World War (One), but it proceeded once again during the days of Mār Benedict XV, High Pontiff, Pope of Rome. It was completed in the year 1931 during the days of the most holy Mār Pius XI, High Pontiff, Pope of Rome—blissfully seated on the Apostolic See (11-16)—the victorious King of Iraq, the most majestic Faysal the First, our father Mār Yawsep ‛Ammānū’ēl, Patriarch of Babylon, and Mār Antonin Drapier, the Apostolic Envoy. Its building was completed through the donations of the Apostolic See, the assistance of the mentioned Mār Patriarch, and particularly the financial help and great work of the blessed people of Tell-Kēf.
