English Translation

(1) The Cross was victorious / the Cross will be victorious. (2-6) Here is laid the virtuous priest Gīwargīs son of Gabriēl Mattē Marqus, of the Bēt-Ēlīā (family). He was born in the year 1903 of our Lord, entered the patriarchal Seminary in Mosul in the year 1920, received the priestly rank in 1927, and departed from this world in the year 1934. Pray for him.
