(1-5) Here is laid the one of virtuous memory, the caretaker of the church, the Priest Mattī Rayyis, son of the Deacon Hannā Gūzā. His birth was in the year 1813 of our Lord. He was ordained priest in the year 1859, (6-11) the 27th in the month of Nīsān (April), a Friday. He died in the year 1912, the 25th of Nīsān (April), in venerable and very old age—the total of the years of his life was ninety-nine years. Pray for him!
