English Translation

(1-2) And on the hope of the life of the dead.

(1-5) Here is laid the venerable prelate Mār Ēlīā Abūnā. He was born in the year 1863, in the month of Kānōn II (January). He was ordained priest (6-9) in Nīsān (April) the year 1888. He was ordained bishop in Nīsān (April) the year 1909. He died on the 14th of Iyyār (May) the year 1955. My Brothers: Pray for him!
B (Arab.)
(1) Here is laid on the hope of the resurrection the late Mār (2) Ēlīā Abūnā. He was born in Latter Kānūn (January), the first (day), the year 1863. (3) He was ordained priest in Nīsān (April), the year 1888. He was elevated to the rank of (4) bishop in Nīsān (April), the year 1909. He died on the 14th of Ayyār (May), (5) the year 1955. Pray for him!

(1) Here rests in the peace of the Lord Mgr. (2) Ēlīā Abūnā. Born in January (3) 1863. Ordained priest in April 1888, bishop in April 1909. He died in May 1955.
