English Translation

(A1-2) In the year 1906 after the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ, the apse of (the church of) Mār Gīwargīs the heroic and victorious martyr, along with the glorious altar, was built from its foundations for formerly it was small in measurement and size,
(B) during the days of Mār Pius the Tenth who sits in peace on the see of Rome in succession of Peter the Apostle. The building of this apse rose up through the financial assistance of the Catholicos-Patriarch of Chaldeanism,
(C1-2) Mār ‛Ammānū’ēl the Second native of this village, and the Abbot Šmū’ēl Jamīl, Head of the religious order. The people of Alqōš contributed with labour and money and Chorepiscopos Ablahad with the plan.
