(1-5) In the year 1936 on First Kānōn (December), a small cell was built after the name of the zealous martyr Mār Qardaġ the marzbān according to the computation and appointed time of the Saint (6-10) on this spot. And in the year 1938 this church was built a second time from its foundation thanks to its own financial resources—75 dinārs—during the days of Mār Pius (11-13) XII Pope of Rome and Mār ‛Ammānū’ēl II, Patriarch of Babylon over the Chaldeans.
