English Translation

(1-5b) The building of these churches—the upper one built after the names of the Archangels M[ār] Michael and Gabriel, and the lower one after the names of the [four] Evangelists—took place during the days of the Father of Fathers Mār Pius, the Pope of Rome, (5a) in its part, (4b) and of the w[hole universe], and of the Catholicos Mār Yawsep the Fifth, the Patriarch [who is in Amid] (6-7) the city, and of our most reverend Father, the Priest Gabriēl the Abbot. May God [lengthen] their days, and perpetual glory is to God, amen: The year 1820 of the Lo[rd. End].
