English Translation

(1) The Cherubim, the Seraphim and the Archangels, in fear and trembling stand before your altar. They look at the priest who breaks and partitions the body of Christ, for the forgiveness of sins. God, who sanctified the first altar which Moses, the first-born, had built, sanctify through your mercy this awesome altar and provide us through it with grace and forgiveness.
(2) The renovation and completion of this gate and of the holy altar took place during the time of the Father of Fathers Mār Pius the Seventh by name, the Pope of Rome, the 11th (year) after the opening of the monastery: Glory for the One who gives energy!
(3) At the hands of Elisha, the holy Prophet, you sanctified the Upper Room and gave life to the child. Sanctify this altar in a special manner, so that we may praise you inside it and sanctify you. Michael, who rescued the Hebrew people, Gabriel, who announced the birth of the Son of the Most High, and Raphael, who assisted Tobias the chosen one, save us from lust and captivity: The year 1818 of Christ.
