The Chaldean Monastery of Rabban Hurmizd, the Church of the Trinity, the outer wall of the church. , Jabal Alqōš

(1-5) We inform that this church, named after the adored Trinity, had collapsed on account of fire in the year 1977 of Greece (=AD 1666), and was renovated in 1978 of Greece (=AD 1667). It was completed in the year 1846 of our Lord. Then the gate of its altar was built and embellished during the leadership of the Abbot (6-10) ‛Ammānū’ēl (in the year) 1849 of our Lord. Also, the church of Qankē, named after the four Evangelists, was (previously) built from its foundations through the care of our blessed Father, the Abbot Gabriēl Danbō, the reformer of our religious order, in the year 1820 of our Lord. And now, this church was (again) elevated from its foundation, (11-15) along with the īwān before it, four cells above it, and the church of the Four Evangelists that is next to it, during the days of the watchful shepherds of the Church, Mār Pius XI, Pope of Rome, Mār ‛Ammānū’ēl II, Catholicos-Patriarch of Babylon over the Chaldeans, Mār Antonin Drapier, Apostolic Envoy, and (16-20) Mār Yawsep Ġanīma, patriarchal Deputy, and through the care of the Abbot Yawsep Dādīšō‛ Naggārā, Superior General over the Chaldean monasteries, and through the labour and hard work of (all) the monastic Fathers and Brothers, and thanks to the money offered in part by the Holy Apostolic See, (21-25) and in a greater part by the patriarchal diocese and other Chaldean dioceses. The afore-mentioned Superior General, who travelled for one and a half years, collected the donations for this building. Because of want of water in the monastery, we brought water from the source of Kātūniyyā, which is one hour distant from the monastery, in great effort. (26-30) This whole building was completed in the extent of one year, that is the year 1930 of our Lord, in the month of Tammūz (July). May our Lord reward every one, who laboured and assisted (with regard to this project), with the heavenly bliss, along with the righteous and the just ones, amen.
