English Translation

(1-5) This source of water that springs here from a height in a camp called ‛Ayn-Gilkaya, was built in the year 1871 of our Lord, during the days of the Abbot Ēlīša‛, Superior (6-10) General, and through the care of the monastic Brothers—according to the computation inscribed in an earlier slab that was dilapidated, and that is now safeguarded below this new one. It is now renovated (11-15) and completed during the days of the Abbot Abrāham Yawsep, Superior General of the Chaldean monasteries, through the care and labour of the monastic Brothers in the year 1977 of our Lord.
