English Translation

(1-5) This grave is of the Priest Ya‛qōb son of the believer Dāniēl and Ward-Īšō Markāyēl of Āšītā, of the family Bēt-Mārūtā. (6-11) He departed from this world in the year 1940 of our Lord, Saturday 1st, First Kānōn (December). He was buried in the church of Mārt(y) Mariam, the Daughter of the Covenant, in the neighbourhood of Rabban Hurmizd the Persian, amen.
