He was heroic in all good things, and diligent that these may profit his tribe. He eliminated all treacherous and evils things (6-10) that used to harm his people and community, for he moved around with the truth and zeal for what was fair to the believers. He engaged in contests with abusive and deceitful people at all ti<mes>, and never neglected the good thing. He respected his superiors, and shared his bread with everyone, (11-15) that he may be merciful toward his tribe. O Lord of lords, have pity on Ya‛qōb the dead, and deliver him from the purifying fire. Make him worthy of the bridal chamber of the Kingdom. Ya‛qōb was born in the year 1811 according to the Christian calendar and exercised leadership for 19 (16-17) years in harmony. He died in the year 1861 of our Lord, on the 5th of the month of Ādār (March), Friday, in Dehōk.
